Hi Robert,
Can you provide me a list of replacement parts I
might need for my HK/Cetme? I want to maintain my rifle and would
like to have some extra parts for anything that might wear out or break.
Thanks
Jon Doe
Above is a very common question. It's also a question
I have a hard time answering. I do not like telling people to buy
parts they may never need or use. However I understand the reason
some people want to keep extra/spare parts. I do the same for most
of my weapons.
Below is a list of things that can or do go bad on HK style rifles.
Parts marked with * have extra special meaning to Cetme Owners.
Parts that Break
Hammer (not common but they do break)
Buffer (not common but every now and then one pops)
Ejector (more common in full auto fire)
Cocking Handle (plastic breaks off)
Spring for Cocking Handle*
Parts that Wear Out over time
Recoil Spring*
Locking Lever and Spring for locking lever
Extractor and Spring for extractor
Ejector lever
Firing Pin
Spring for firing pin*
Locking Piece
Rollers*: Usually a size larger than you currently use (I never kept
spares for this until I noticed I had no bolt gap in my favorite G3...Now
I keep extra's)
Locking Pin for cocking tube (after extensive use)
Support for cocking handle (gets loose and sloppy but still works and
functions fine)
Pivot Pin for cocking handle (teeth wear out after being removed too
many times)
Springs:
Hammer Spring - trigger spring - cocking handle
spring* - Recoil Spring* - Firing Pin Spring*
Parts that Get Lost or Fly across the room: If you take
apart your rifle these might come in handy..
Retainer Pins/Push Pins for both Handguard and Buttstock
Spring & Pin for ejector Lever
Retainer Plate and Roll Pin for Rollers (only if taking apart your
bolt)
Mounting Hardware, Windage Screw and spring for rear sight (when working
on or removing your rear sight some small parts get lots)
Anything other small screw or part that you might take apart often
* Parts you better have if you own a Cetme
I most likely have forgotten a couple parts so I might update this page in the future. Depending on your shooting habits and how much fun you have taking apart your guns many of the above parts may not concern you. I hope this information will be of some help. A Properly built G3 type Rifle should have very few problems. However anything made by man can be broken by man too...
