HK Steel Shell Deflector

In the 1990's the German army updated its demands for the G3 and made several changes and improvements.  One of these changes was the addition of a steel Shell Deflector placed at the rear of the ejection port. These new steel Shell Deflectors were produced by HK in Oberndorf Germany and were installed on all new HK G3 rifles.  Also the German army began retrofitting older G3 rifles to use the new HK Steel Shell Deflector.

After installing this Shell Deflector spent cartridges no longer flew across the field but instead fell forward of the shooter to the 2:00 o'clock position. This is a great improvement for anybody who shoots with other humans as nobody likes getting hit in the head with hot brass. As an added bonus to civilian shooters the steel deflector limits the damage to brass casings thus being a bonus for reloaders.

In the past we were only able to find used steel Shell Deflectors cut from demilled G3 rifles.  Now for the first time we have these Shell Deflectors New in White for $20 each.  These will make a great addition to any HK build and work on all HK style rifles including G3, HK91, PTR91, HK93/33, Vector93, Vector51, CETME and clones.

Below are photographs of an HK Steel Shell Deflector installed on a German Army HK G3. This rifle was built in 12/79 and the Steel Shell Deflector was added 4/00. This is interesting because by that year the German Army had already switched to the G36. However due to government contract HK retrofitted thousands of G3 rifles before sending them to be demilled....Not only America has government waste. The rifle photographed below was demilled by the German army which is why the receiver is deformed and appears damaged.
