Battle Arms Development H3 buffer for AR15, M16, M4. This is a 5.4 ounce buffer. Made in the USA.
There are four types of buffers:
Carbine 3.0 Ounce Buffer. Contains 3 steel weights. This is the buffer shipped with the vast majority of AR15 carbines.
H 3.8 Ounce Buffer. Contains 1 tungsten weight and 2 steel weights. As most store bought ARs are over-gassed many install a heavy 3.8 oz buffer to lower recoil and reduce wear on the weapon. This is the buffer found in the Colt M4 carbine 14.5" as issued to the Army.
H2 4.6 Ounce Buffer. Contains 2 tungsten weight and 1 steel weight. Used in carbines but mostly found in pistols.
H3 5.4 Ounce Buffer. Contains 3 tungsten weights. Found in some pistols. Often a preferred replacement for over-gassed pistols that ship with a lighter buffer.
The goal is to run the heaviest buffer you can while maintaining absolute reliability. This will keep felt recoil and weapon wear to a minimum.
