Energa rifle grenade. These fully inert grenades are new old stock but may have oxidation on the steel fuze area.
The Energa anti-tank rifle grenade is a rifle-launched anti-tank grenade that is propelled by a ballistite-filled blank cartridge. The name Energa comes from the firm in Liechtenstein that designed it, the Anstalt für die ENtwicklung von ERfindungen und Gewerblichen Anwendungen, based in Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein.
The body and shaft are made of aluminum and the fuze is solid steel. Used correctly, these inert grenades can be used over and over again for training or demonstration.
The United Kingdom used Energa rifle grenades with Enfield No. 4 Mark 5 and L1A1 rifles. South Africa made a copy for use on FN FAL rifles. America made a similar version of the Energa called the M28, which saw use in the Korean war.
