The actual name of "tripod" refers to the anti-aircraft (light) tripod used to shoot when standing up. This is the heavy ground tripod, often found with optics and the battery box.

This is a translation of the original German manual for all the M.G. 3 tripods that have been imported and adapted to other weapons besides the M.G. 42, such as the Browning 1919A4.
