Rhinemetall MG3 MG42 Crushed Mid Receiver Section. These were crushed at the barrel latch. Salvageable parts include: trunnion*, milled barrel latch supports and forward tripod mounting block. These are hard to find parts for your MG42/M53 build.
Though these were crushed they are a great source of correct repair material, small parts and reference/measurements. Rhinemetall demilled these receivers by removing small parts and driving over the receivers with a tank (true story). That is how they were crushed.
Most trunnions have a small chip, examples shown in images. Some trunnions have worse damage. About 80-90% have good working trunnions. It's the luck of the draw.
